monochrome CD release show synopsis
last night was definitely one of the best JFK shows ever
smalltown sleeper and cavashawn both played very good sets and for the most part the air was very friendly
we tried to just pull out everything we could to make it the most comprehensive, entertaining, dynamic thing possible and i think we succeeded. i am fronting a few songs now(instead of playing guitar) and that feels good. we worked our asses off to make sure we are up to speed on a catalog of four albums. some highlights include Chad Bradhold proposing to Jenny Messer on stage in the middle of our set, T Miler coming up to play cello on float away and guitar on blue, my sister Amy singing on “Sam” and of course launching the confetti cannons two times. as we expected, confetti falling = instant happiness.
the other day dan and i worked up a cover of Michael Jackson’s “man in the mirror” for the encore. dan on keys and me on guitar. we couldn’t quite get the snapping right in the first verse but for just learning it the day before it was pretty good. i’ve always loved that song and wanted to play it, figured it would be a fitting tribute.
we sold a lot of tickets and a lot of CD’s. it was everything we had hoped for and i feel very good.
here is the setlist
i am sure some more photos and videos will pop up on facebook myspace et cetera
thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a special night
and congratulations to the newly engaged Chad and Jenny!
love
