xylophone

i did it. i bought a xylophone. yay! it’s a nice one with a stand and case and everything. went to a pawn shop today looking for speakers, took home a xylophone instead (i have been looking for a xylophone anyway). i think that was the first time i had been in a pawn shop since i was a kid.

i love xylophones. i always wanted one and now i have one. now i just need a bigger room so i can leave it set up all the time. to be surrounded with musical toys. i always wanted to learn how to play the pan flute. i need to play more instruments. i lost my tambourine at a club in new jersey. i need a new tambourine. and a bunch of other things i can’t really afford. all in time.
other musical news this week, i discovered that Amy’s old hundred dollar yamaha keyboard has some really interestingly bad sounds on it. we have a semi-permanent trade happening–old guitar for old keyboard.
i have been recording some interesting demos of new songs.
i am totally in anti-guitar mode right now. it’s fun.
i’ve been tossing around ideas for album covers. just trying to get a general sense of the vibe. i am still pretty lost. all i know is it should feel cold.
i am relatively manic right now.
